What is an underride accident?

These type of crashes are more likely to occur when a passenger car collides with some part of the trailer in a semi-tractor trailer accident.  The car actually runs underneath the trailer, either from the side or the back.  The danger involved is the potential sheering off of the roof of the passenger car resulting in serious head injuries or death.  Proper underride guards can prevent some of these crashes.
