Frequently Asked Questions by our clients in Indiana

Q: Who chooses the attorney for an estate administration or trust administration?

A: The “personal representative” (formerly the executor or executrix) who is either named in the Will or appointed by the Court is responsible for administering a decedent’s estate, and the “trustee” who is named in a trust is responsible for administering a trust.  Therefore,  the personal representative or the trustee chooses the attorney they wish to have represent them and assist with the administration of the estate or trust.
