PERSONAL INJURY

TRUCK ACCIDENTS

  • Share The Road Safely - No-Zone Information: This site provides information on how cars and trucks can share the road safely and what drivers of each type of vehicle needs to know about No-Zone areas.  No-Zone are areas where crashes are most likely to occur.  They are danger areas like blind spots, around commercial vehicles, in which cars "disappear" from the view of the truck or bus driver.

AGRICULTURE BUSINESS STRUCTURING AND WEALTH PLANNING

  • American Agricultural Law Association: This ia a professional association focusing on the needs of the agricultural community. Crossing traditional barriers, it offers an independent forum for investigation of innovative and workable solutions to complex agricultural law problems. The AALA's role has taken on greater importance in the midst of the current international and environmental issues which are reshaping agriculture and the impending technological advances which promise equally dramatic changes.

Drinking and Driving

  • Sobering Reality of Drunk Driving Risks During the Holidays:

'Tis the season to eat, drink and be merry, but festivities extend onto the road and can be deadly.   In December of 2008 there were 7,104 motor vehicle fatalities in the United States with 520 of them related to drunk driving.  Drunk driving is a majory safety issue and is more prevalent during the festive holiday season.

Teen Driving

  • Indiana Laws on Teen Driving Strengthened: Details of Indiana's new teen driving legislation effective July 1, 2009. The new law provides for graduated licensing and a ban on cell phone use except for 911 calls. A must read for any parent of a teen driver.
  • Parents that Control the Car Keys Keep Teens Safer: Teenagers are the most dangerous drivers on the road. There is a way to keep teen drivers safer on the roads. Don't give teens a car they consider their own.

Teenagers who reported that they were the main person driving a vehicle, rather than sharing it with other family members, were more than twice as likely to be involved in a recent crash. One in four drivers with primary access to a car had had an accident while driving in the past year, compared with 1 in 10 for shared access. That means 25 percent of the kids driving their "own" cars had at least one accident in the past year!

Don't be afraid to set rules for safe driving behavior, and yank the keys if those rules aren't followed. In fact, making your teenager say, "Mom, can I have the car keys?" may be one of the simplest and best ways to keep your child safe.
  • Teen Drivers Need Practice for Slippery Winter Roads:

Parents can help new teen drivers by viewing the videos on this site.   There are links for video on Winter Driving Safety, Driving in Snow and Ice, Tips for Driving in Icy Conditions.

  • Teen Driving - Later School Start Time Cuts Teen's Car Crash Risk: More cleep means sharper young drivers, a study by the Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine suggests in a December 15, 2008 article.
  • TEENS DRIVING IN BAD WEATHER: Driving tips for teens from www.teendriving.com    This is an excellent source of information and tips for teens who are driving on wintry roads.
  • Tips to Help Keep Teen Driver's Safe: A must read for parents and teens.  Tips on staying safe, including defensive driving.   A discussion of UPS's sponsorship of a teen driving program can also be accessed through this link.
